Crib Bedding

As you can see by the lack of decor posts on my blog, the decorating process is going very slow.

However, I did manage to pull together my first sewing project since I was in high school. I really wanted Ivy to have some bright colored bedding to go with the gift bag art I made. Her other bedskirt and bumper, although cute enough, were pastel pink. The colors are a bit more fun now:

Ivy's crib has these little diagonal metal bars on the edges for raising the mattress, so I had to keep a slit and put buttons on the edges in order to make the skirt fit right.

I got all the fabric from fabric.com (made by Premier Prints) for about $5/yard after using discount codes (I like using retailmenot.com), but the regular price was cheap to begin with. I took a little shortcut by buying a plain white IKEA bumper and sewing my fabric over it. Altogether, I spent about $35 on this project. Not bad. And I'm happy with the way it turned out.
